Yesterday we, some of my friends went to visit the Bar-Awlia’s Majar of Chittagong. It is located at outside of Chittagong City and 1 Kilometers away of International Islamic University, Chittagong. It is worth mentioning that we firstly visited the International Islamic University, Chittagong (IIUC) before going to visit the Baroawalia Majar. As being a Private University of Bangladesh; the IIUC should be like other private universities which are congested in space and students. But IIUC is probably the first private university of Bangladesh which has a large campus along with some biggest residential area. The natural beauty is surrounded in this University and lots of foreign students are studying there. Some hills have enhanced the beauty of it and modern structural beauty is really impressive.
We offered the Asar’s prayer in the Islamic University’s awesome mosque and then started to visit the Baroawlia’s Majhar. The peoples who don’t know about the meaning of Majhar; I should describe it now. Majhar is basically a grave. In this sense Majhar means the grave of a people who was famous once upon a time by his deeds and personality.
The Baro-awlia’s Majhar was created more than 150 years ago. It is said that; 12 extremely popular Religious Gurus of Islam came in this place and made some conversations about how to spread islam in this country. As the 12 Islamic Gurus gathered there; this placed is renamed as Baro Awlia.
Later when one of the BaroAwlia was died; his grave were produced in this place and a Graveyard was established which is called now a days the Baroawlia’s Majhar. The religious muslim peoples comes this place with their several intentions towards Almighty Allah. Peoples pray to Allah for fulfilling their expectations by the sake of this Baroawlias.
Though this place is not literally beautified and no attractive designs is made in this Baroawlias Majhar; lots of peoples comes there just for praying to Allah. The government of Bangladesh should emphasize on this matter and should beautify it as much as possible to attract more enthusiasts.
